The Nativity BVM Knights are dedicated to service for our church,
community, council, family, and youth. Our primary focus is supporting
worthy parish, church, and community groups – both financially and with
volunteer efforts. Over the years our efforts involved manual labor, such as
refurbishing the convent, painting the sacristy, and working with the home
and school association to paint the school gym, classrooms etc. Other
examples of parish support include the marble floor around the altar, the
tables in the vestibule, and new vestments for the priests. School support
includes annual scholarships and awards, donations to the auction, and
donations for specific requests. Church support has involved annual support
of a seminarian and installation of the memorial to the unborn child in
front of church. Finally community and youth activities include an annual
free throw contest, awards to Media police officers, and support for the ARC
organization. We are able to do these things through the generous support of
our parish and community when we sell C.O.A.L. tickets or crab cakes. Our
members also serve the parish as Extraordinary ministers, ushers, and
members of the parish council.
We have accomplished much in the seventeen years our council has been in
existence but there is so much more that can be done. The only way for the
organization to continue and grow its good works is to involve new members
in our group.
